What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a type of therapy used to treat emotional problems and mental health conditions. It involves talking to a trained therapist, either one-to-one or with client's wife, husband or partner.
It allows you to look deeper into your problems and develop your own solutions. It also can support you to change your attitudes and learn skills to tolerate painful emotions, manage relationships more effectively or improve behaviour. Psychotherapy can help you to discuss feelings that you have about yourself and other people, particularly family and those close to you. In some cases, couples or families are offered joint therapy sessions together. The main goal of psychotherapy is to improve your life quality and let you gain more satisfaction from your every-day relations. All information from the sessions is being treated as absolutely confidential by the therapist.

What is psychotherapy for?

On psychotherapeutic sessions we provide you with help and support with:
  • family issues,
  • relation problems,
  • life crisis,
  • psychosomatic symptoms,
  • depression,
  • anxiety disorders,
  • personality disorders,
  • obsessive compulsive disorder,
  • long-term illnesses.

What kind of psychotherapy we offer?

We offer you integrative (eclectic) psychotherapy that includes techniques from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and family therapy.  Psychotherapeutic sessions allow the therapist to reveal the unconscious content of a client's psyche in order to eliminate psychic tension. The client can also learn some skills that retrain behaviour and style of thinking in order to deal with stressful situations in a better way. In some cases psychotherapy involves other members of the client's family and helps them to work out problems together.

How our psychotherapy in Warsaw works?

Psychotherapy involves meeting a therapist regularly once every week. Individual sessions last for 50 minutes. On the first consultation session the psychotherapist and the client determine the therapy contract – establishing the rules of future work  and naming client's goals and problems. Usually a psychotherapeutic process lasts from a few months to more than a year - it always depends on client's individual needs.
